How Much Does a Private Jet Cost from London? A Straight Answer
By Luis Aparicio, Founder Luxury Experience · 20 July 2026 · 2 min read

Private aviation pricing has a reputation for opacity it doesn't entirely deserve. The structure is simple once someone lays it out — so here it is, with real indicative numbers.
The headline numbers
Charter is priced per flight hour, by aircraft class. As a guide from London:
| Aircraft class | Typical passengers | Indicative rate |
|---|---|---|
| Light jet | up to 6 | £3,000–£4,500 / hr |
| Midsize | up to 8 | £4,500–£6,000 / hr |
| Super-midsize | up to 9 | £6,000–£8,000 / hr |
| Heavy jet | up to 14 | £8,000–£12,000 / hr |
| Ultra-long-range | up to 16 | £12,000–£18,000 / hr |
On routes, that translates to roughly: London to Paris from £7,000 one-way on a light jet, Nice from £11,000, Ibiza from £13,000, Dubai from £55,000 on a heavy jet, and New York from £75,000 on an ultra-long-range aircraft. These are indicative market figures — every charter is individually quoted and confirmed in writing before you commit.
What actually moves the price
- Positioning. If the aircraft must fly empty to collect you, you pay for those hours too. This is why the "same" route varies day to day.
- Aircraft choice within a class. A newer Phenom 300 and an older Citation of similar size can differ meaningfully.
- Peak dates. School holidays, the Monaco Grand Prix, Christmas week — demand pricing is real.
- Short runways and slots. Courchevel or London City change the aircraft options and therefore the price.
The empty-leg exception
Repositioning flights — aircraft flying empty to their next job — are sold at discounts that can exceed 50%. The catch is inflexibility: the aircraft's schedule, not yours. If your dates float, they are the best value in aviation; ask our concierge to watch routes for you.
How we arrange it
LuxuryExperience.ai arranges charter as an agent: you tell our AI concierge the route, dates and party size — at 3am if you like — and our aviation desk sources options from licensed operators, every flight flown by an AOC-holding carrier named on your quote. No membership fees, no jet cards.
And because the same concierge holds the keys to our London residences, landing at Farnborough and sleeping in a South Kensington townhouse is one conversation, not two bookings.
