The fixture at a glance

Treat the date as fixed and the time as movable. Plan the trip around the weekend, keep the train or flight flexible, and firm up the travel once the television selection for March is announced.
Manchester City's hospitality for 2026/27
Manchester City sells its own hospitality directly and has added new spaces for the 2026/27 season, from sports bars to a private room for 12. Its men's team hospitality page groups them from informal to exclusive, and the right choice depends on the size of your group and how much of the day you want to spend together.
New for the season:
- City Hall, a sports bar among fellow supporters.
- Crossbar, a sports bar themed on the club's goalkeepers, with an inclusive drinks package.
- Zadie's, a dining and entertainment space the club describes as where football and glamour collide.
- Pitch View Rooms, a private space for 12 guests with panoramic views of the pitch.
Experiences and private spaces:
- The Platinum Box Experience, a 20-seat private box built around your group.
- VVIP Pitch Side, a private space where you see the team before they walk out.
- The Icon Experience, with appearances from well-known names in the game.
Suites and boxes around the stadium: the club's matchday hub lists The Tunnel Club (Premier and Ground), The Chairman's Club and The Mancunian at the West Reception, the East Boxes and Citizens on the east side, Legends at the South Reception, and private boxes in the West and North stands.
| Style | Examples | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Sports bar | City Hall, Crossbar | Groups who want atmosphere and a good view of the build-up |
| Premium dining | Zadie's | Couples and clients who want the meal to matter |
| Private room | Pitch View Rooms (12 guests) | A group that wants its own space with a view of the pitch |
| Private box | Platinum Box (20 guests), West and North Boxes | Corporate hosting and celebrations |
| Behind the scenes | The Tunnel Club, VVIP Pitch Side | Seeing the players up close |
Timings on the day
Most hospitality at the Etihad opens three hours before kick-off and stays open for an hour after the final whistle. Manchester City's matchday hub sets the rules clearly:
- On-site suites open three hours before kick-off and remain open for one hour after the match.
- The Tunnel Club Premier stays open for two hours after the match.
- Off-site packages open four hours before kick-off and are pre-match only.
- Campus hospitality, at the academy across the road, is also pre-match only.
For a 3pm kick-off, that means arriving from noon, which suits a morning train from London and a relaxed lunch before the match. If the kick-off moves later for television, the day moves with it.
A private box for your group
A private box is the strongest choice for a group of eight or more: your own space, your own table and a view of the pitch without sharing the room. At the Etihad, boxes range from the 20-seat Platinum Box to the private boxes in the West and North stands.
Three questions settle the choice. How many are in your party? Is the meal or the match the centre of the day? And does anyone want to see the players up close? A group of 12 that wants its own space and a view of the pitch points to a Pitch View Room; a larger party hosting clients points to a private box; a smaller group that wants atmosphere suits a sports bar such as City Hall or Crossbar; and seeing the players points to The Tunnel Club or VVIP Pitch Side.
Much of the best derby hospitality is never advertised on a venue's website; it is placed privately through hospitality sales teams, which is the service we provide. For the first derby we were able to offer an eight-seat private box at Old Trafford with dining and complimentary drinks. For the Etihad, tell our AI concierge the size of your group and what matters most, whether that is privacy, the meal or seeing the players, and we will source options per enquiry. The supplier, the inclusions and the price are confirmed in writing before you commit; an enquiry is a request, and nothing is confirmed until then.
General admission versus VIP hospitality
Luxury Experience AI does not sell general admission tickets. Manchester City sells those through the club's own ticketing, and for a derby demand far outstrips supply, so check the club's ticketing pages for eligibility well ahead.
We source VIP hospitality: private boxes, suites and packages, including options that are not listed publicly. Luxury Experience AI is not an official or authorised seller of tickets or hospitality, and we will always tell you who the supplier is.
Getting to Manchester from London
The fastest way from central London to Manchester is the direct train from London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly, a little over two hours on the quickest services. A private jet to Manchester Airport suits a group that wants to fly, and a chauffeur suits a party that wants door-to-door travel.
| Journey time | Best for | |
|---|---|---|
| Train, Euston to Piccadilly | From 2 hours 6 minutes on the fastest services | Most guests: city centre to city centre |
| Private jet to Manchester Airport | Well under an hour in the air | Groups flying up and back in a day |
| Chauffeur from London | Allow around four hours each way | Door-to-door comfort for the whole party |
By train. Avanti West Coast runs direct trains between London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly, with the fastest listed from 2 hours 6 minutes. Book once the kick-off time is confirmed, and check the last train back on the day.
By private jet. We arrange private jet charter as an agent: the flight is operated by a third-party licensed carrier, and you contract and pay the operator directly. London to Manchester is a short sector, and a light jet is the usual choice for a same-day return. Figures before an operator quote are indicative only; our guide to what a private jet costs from London explains the pricing, and private jet charter is where a quote starts.
By chauffeur. A chauffeur collects your party from home and waits after the match. It is the slowest option over this distance, but it keeps a group together in one vehicle for the whole day.
Getting to the Etihad on the day
The Etihad Stadium is a 25-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly station, according to Transport for Greater Manchester, or a short tram ride. The Etihad Campus has its own Metrolink stop, connected to Piccadilly station, as Manchester City's tram guide explains.
The walk is worth considering on a dry day. Manchester City's Citylink walking route runs from Piccadilly through Ancoats, New Islington and Holt Town, and it avoids the tram queues at both ends of the match. After the final whistle, hospitality guests have the advantage: with suites open for an hour after the match, you can let the crowd clear before you leave.
Where to stay
Our apartments are in London, so for most guests the derby is a day trip from a London stay: a morning train north, lunch in the suite, the match, and back to London in the evening. We have a curated list of luxury apartments across London, which you can book through our online concierge, and a March visit is a good moment to combine the derby with a week in the capital.
A Saturday match also leaves the Sunday free for London: a late lunch, a gallery or a walk along the river, and a quiet evening back at the apartment before the week begins.
Our own residences are in Canary Wharf; see what is available on our residences page.
