Manchester Derby Hospitality: A Private Box at Old Trafford for Man United v Man City

The first Manchester derby of the 2026/27 season is Manchester United v Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday 13 September 2026, kick-off 4.30pm, live on Sky Sports. Luxury Experience AI has one eight-seat private box for the match, with a three-course meal, complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks, and a matchday programme for every guest. It is first come, first served, and with kick-off on Sunday it will not wait: ask our AI concierge for the price and to book it now.

Checked 11 September 2026. The fixture was first listed for Saturday 12 September at 3pm and has since been moved to Sunday for television. Kick-off times can move again, so confirm on the Premier League fixture list and Sky Sports' schedule before you travel.

What this guide covers

The fixture at a glance

Manchester United host Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday 13 September 2026, with kick-off at 4.30pm UK time. Sky Sports moved the match from its original Saturday 3pm slot when it announced its September television picks on 22 July.

Fixture Manchester United v Manchester City, Premier League
Date Sunday 13 September 2026
Kick-off 4.30pm BST
Venue Old Trafford, Sir Matt Busby Way, Manchester
On television Sky Sports
Originally listed Saturday 12 September, 3pm

A 4.30pm Sunday kick-off shapes the whole day. With half-time and stoppages, the final whistle usually comes shortly before 6.30pm, which leaves the evening for the journey home or a night in the city. Old Trafford holds around 75,000 people, according to Transport for Greater Manchester, and a derby fills every seat.

The private box we can offer

For this derby we have a single eight-seat private box at Old Trafford, and it goes to the first party to book. It is a private space for your own group rather than a table in a shared room.

The package includes:

  • An eight-seat private box for your party alone.
  • A three-course meal, served in the box.
  • Complimentary drinks throughout: beer, wine and soft drinks.
  • A matchday programme for each guest.

Travel to and from Manchester, and any overnight stay, are separate and can be arranged around it.

Packages like this are rarely advertised on a venue's own website. They are usually placed privately through a hospitality sales team, which is the service we provide, and last-minute boxes for a derby do not stay available for long.

To see the price and book, ask our AI concierge. It has the full details of this box and takes your booking straight away, at any hour. Tell it how many are in your party and the name the booking should carry. We then confirm the supplier, the inclusions, the arrival time and the terms in writing before you pay, and the box is yours once that confirmation is complete. There is one box: the first party to confirm takes it.

A private box or a shared suite

A private box is the right choice when your group matters more than the room: eight people, one table and your own view of the pitch. A shared suite suits a smaller party that wants a lively restaurant atmosphere among other guests.

Manchester United's own matchday hospitality programme is built around shared suites at the stadium, including the No.7 Suite, the International Suite, the Trinity Club, the Red Cafe and a Museum Experience, alongside off-site restaurant packages in the city at Australasia, Gaucho and Lucky Cat. Seasonal members use a separate Executive Club with its own suites, among them The Gallery, the 1968 Suite and the 1999 Suite.

Private box Shared suite Off-site restaurant
Who is in the room Your group only Several parties Several parties, away from the stadium
Best for A group of eight, clients, a celebration Couples and small groups Dining first, then the walk to the ground
The view Your own, from the box From the suite's seating area From your match seat only
Dining Served to your table Restaurant service Before the match, off-site

For a derby, the privacy of a box counts for more than on an ordinary matchday. Conversation carries on through the tension of the match, and your guests are not queuing for the bar at half-time.

General admission versus VIP hospitality

Luxury Experience AI does not sell general admission tickets. Those are sold by Manchester United through the club's own ticketing, and for a derby demand far outstrips supply, so check the club's ticketing pages for eligibility well ahead.

What we do source is VIP hospitality: private boxes, suites and hospitality packages, including options that are never listed publicly. Every package is sourced per enquiry through established providers, and the supplier, inclusions and price are confirmed in writing before you commit. Luxury Experience AI is not an official or authorised seller of tickets or hospitality, and we will always tell you who the supplier is.

Getting to Manchester from London

The fastest way from central London to Manchester is the direct train from London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly, which takes a little over two hours on the quickest services. A private jet to Manchester Airport suits a group that wants to fly, and a chauffeur suits a party that wants door-to-door travel and does not mind the time on the road.

Journey time Best for
Train, Euston to Piccadilly From 2 hours 6 minutes on the fastest services Most guests: city centre to city centre
Private jet to Manchester Airport Well under an hour in the air Groups that want to fly and return the same evening
Chauffeur from London Allow around four hours each way, more on a Sunday evening Door-to-door comfort for the whole party

By train. Avanti West Coast runs direct trains between London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly, with the fastest listed from 2 hours 6 minutes. First Class makes the journey a comfortable part of the day. Sunday timetables are often affected by engineering works, so check your return service, and the last train back, before you book.

By private jet. We arrange private jet charter as an agent: the flight is operated by a third-party licensed carrier, and you contract and pay the operator directly. London to Manchester is a short sector, so a light jet is the usual choice, and a same-day return fits comfortably around a 4.30pm kick-off. Any figure before an operator quote is indicative only; our guide to what a private jet costs from London explains how pricing is built, and private jet charter is where a quote starts.

By chauffeur. A chauffeur-driven car collects your party from home and waits for you after the match. It is the slowest option over this distance, but for a group of eight in a single vehicle it removes every change of transport from the day.

Getting to Old Trafford on the day

From Manchester Piccadilly, the simplest route to Old Trafford is the Metrolink tram to the Old Trafford stop, which Manchester United says is within a five-minute walk of the ground. The club's getting-here page lists the tram, bus and rail options, and Transport for Greater Manchester publishes matchday travel advice, including a post-match shuttle bus.

Leaving after full time is the part of the day visitors underestimate. Around 75,000 people leave at once, and trams and roads back to the city centre fill quickly. Two approaches work:

  • Stay in the box a little longer. Let the crowd clear before you head for the tram or the car. Your arrival time and how long the box stays open afterwards are confirmed with the booking.
  • Pre-arrange your car. If you travel by chauffeur, agree a pick-up point away from Sir Matt Busby Way in advance, and allow extra time before your train or flight.

Where to stay

Our apartments are in London, so for most guests the derby is a day trip from a London stay: the train north in the late morning, the match, and back in time for dinner or a late supper. We have a curated list of luxury apartments across London, which you can book through our online concierge, and it works well for visitors who are in the country for more than one fixture.

If your trip centres on the capital, our own residences are in Canary Wharf, with the Jubilee line and the Elizabeth line close by for the journey to Euston. See what is available on our residences page.

The return derby at the Etihad

The return fixture, Manchester City v Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium, is listed for Saturday 20 March 2027 at 3pm, subject to change for television. Manchester City publishes its own hospitality range for the season, from sports bars to private boxes, and if Sunday comes too soon for your group, March gives time to plan properly. Tell our concierge now and we will come back to you as hospitality for that match is confirmed.
