Knightsbridge in short

  • Best for: shopping, the park, and a base between the West End and the museums.
  • Character: mansion blocks and garden squares behind two of the world’s best-known department stores.
  • Getting around: Knightsbridge (Piccadilly line) and Hyde Park Corner, with Sloane Street running south to Chelsea.
  • Our apartments: none of our own yet; a Knightsbridge apartment comes from our curated list, by enquiry.

The area

Knightsbridge runs along the south side of Hyde Park, and its reputation rests on the stretch between Harrods and Harvey Nichols. Behind that frontage the area is residential: red-brick mansion blocks, stucco terraces and private garden squares, quiet in a way the shopping streets are not.

Sloane Street carries the designer houses south towards Chelsea, and Beauchamp Place and Walton Street keep smaller shops and restaurants. The museums of South Kensington and the Royal Albert Hall are an easy walk west along the park.

Nearby

Walk west along the park and you reach South Kensington, the museum quarter. Sloane Street runs south into Chelsea and the King’s Road. Mayfair begins on the far side of Hyde Park Corner, to the east.

Getting around

  • Knightsbridge station is on the Piccadilly line, which runs west to Heathrow and east through the West End to King’s Cross St Pancras.
  • Hyde Park Corner, on the Piccadilly line, sits at the eastern end, with Green Park one stop further.
  • Hyde Park itself is across the road, which makes early walks and runs straightforward.
  • The Royal Albert Hall, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum are all walkable.

How a stay in Knightsbridge is arranged

Our own apartments are in Canary Wharf. An apartment in Knightsbridge comes from our curated list of luxury apartments across London, arranged by enquiry: you tell the concierge your dates, party and what matters, and our team confirms the apartment, whose it is, what it costs and the terms in writing before you commit to anything.

Around the stay we coordinate the rest of the visit: a chauffeur or airport transfer, restaurant reservations, a private jet through licensed operators, and hospitality at football, Formula 1 and concerts through providers who hold agreements with the clubs and promoters.

Common questions

Do you have your own apartments in Knightsbridge?

Not yet. Our own apartments are in Canary Wharf. A Knightsbridge apartment is arranged through our curated list, and we confirm the apartment, whose it is and the terms before you commit.

Is Knightsbridge good for families?

It suits families who want the park and the museums close by. Tell the concierge the ages of the children and what you need in the apartment, and we will take it from there.

How close is the Royal Albert Hall?

It stands at the western edge of the area, by Kensington Gore, within a walk for most of Knightsbridge.

Can you arrange a car and a driver?

Yes. A chauffeur for the visit, or for a single evening, is one of the things we coordinate around a stay.
