DIFC in short

  • Best for: business in the city, dining and art.
  • Character: office towers and residences around The Gate, with Gate Village and Gate Avenue for galleries, restaurants and shops.
  • Getting around: Emirates Towers and Financial Centre on the Metro Red Line; Downtown Dubai is next door.
  • Our apartments: none of our own; a DIFC apartment is arranged through a partner, by enquiry.

The area

The Dubai International Financial Centre sits off Sheikh Zayed Road between the Trade Centre district and Downtown. It is a financial free zone with its own civil and commercial laws, based on common law, and its own courts, which is why so many international banks and law firms are based here.

Around The Gate, the district’s landmark, Gate Village and Gate Avenue hold the city’s best-known art galleries, restaurants and terraces with skyline views. In the evening the offices empty and the restaurants fill, and it becomes one of the liveliest places in the city to dine.

Nearby

Just to the south, Downtown Dubai puts Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall a short walk away. On the coast to the west, Jumeirah is the nearest stretch of beach.

Getting around

  • Emirates Towers and Financial Centre stations on the Metro Red Line both serve the district; Gate Village is a short walk from Emirates Towers along covered walkways.
  • Downtown Dubai, Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall are next door to the south.
  • The Red Line runs directly to Dubai International Airport.
  • Sheikh Zayed Road runs alongside, for a car to the coast, the Palm or the Marina.

How a stay in DIFC is arranged

We have no apartments of our own in Dubai. An apartment in DIFC is arranged through a partner, by enquiry: you tell the concierge your dates, party and what matters, and our team confirms the apartment, whose it is, what it costs and the terms in writing before you commit to anything. Every apartment we put forward for a short stay holds a holiday home permit from Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism.

Around the stay we coordinate the rest of the visit: a chauffeur or airport transfer, restaurant reservations, and a private jet through licensed operators.

Yes. Many international banks and law firms are in the district, and the Metro Red Line runs from its stations to the airport and across the city.
